She smiles!

Errol and I have anxiously been waiting for the day Elsa smiles at us - a real smile not one of those "I need to toot gas" smiles. That day finally came yesterday. It is a good thing too, we had a pretty rough day.

She woke up at about 8 am and didn't close those blue eyes of hers until nearly 4pm for a nap. That is a tad too long for a 71/2 week old to go without sleep. Needless to say noon to 4 was a long and loud four hours of screaming, crying and whimpering - for all of us including Dalasi. Elsa must think that I am the coolest mom ever and can't bare the thought of spending a moment away from me - this is why she refuses day time naps - there can't be another explanation can there?

To end the day - she woke up from her nap at 7:30pm, I picked her up out of her cradle and on the way to the changing table there it was...our little girls first real smile!

This video shows the second smile that we managed to capture later that evening. Errol didn't tell me it was video so please ignore my obnoxious cooing in the background.
